Winchester XPR Thumbhole Varmint SR 223 Rem 24" 5+1 Bolt Action Rifle

The Winchester XPR Thumbhole Varmint SR is a purpose-built varmint rifle chambered in .223 Remington, designed for accurate offhand and prone shooting. It pairs a rugged bolt-action action with a button-rifled, free-floated barrel and a purpose-shaped thumbhole stock to give varmint hunters and precision shooters a steady, repeatable platform.

At the core of the XPR Thumbhole Varmint SR is a 24-inch button-rifled, free-floating steel barrel with a 1:10" twist and a recessed target crown, finished in matte bluing. The barrel is threaded 5/8"x24 for the easy fitment of a suppressor or muzzle brake and sits in a steel receiver carrying the same blued/black finish. The action is operated by a chromoly steel bolt with a PTFE coating for smooth cycling and corrosion resistance. The receiver is drilled and tapped for scope bases; no iron sights are included, leaving the shooter free to mount their preferred optic.

The trigger is Winchester's M.O.A. Trigger System, a polished and hardened carbon-steel assembly with a blued finish, set to a clean, creep-free break. A two-position safety sits at the rear of the bolt for safe carry. Feeding comes from a detachable box magazine giving the rifle its 5+1 capacity, well-suited to a day of rat, prairie dog, or coyote work.

The fixed thumbhole stock is molded from gray laminate with a raised cheekpiece for a consistent cheek weld behind a scope. A length of pull of 13.75" and an overall length of 44" give the rifle a full-size, stable feel, while the laminate stock keeps the package at roughly 8 lbs.
