The Williams Gunsight Co. Aluminum Slot Blank (Model 1951) is a small, drop-in accessory designed to fill and cover an empty receiver dovetail slot once an iron sight has been removed. Machined from aluminum with a durable black anodized finish, it neatly dresses up the appearance of a rifle after a sight upgrade or sight removal.
This slot blank is precision cut to fit all standard 3/8" dovetails (the common .375" x 60 degree specification), so it drops into the same slot your original iron sight occupied. An included lock screw holds the blank securely in place against recoil and handling. Per the Williams catalog, the blank is intended "for appearance sake" after an iron sight is removed, making it a clean, low-profile solution for shooters who run optic-only setups or want a tidy factory look.
Measuring approximately 0.25" tall by 1.85" wide by 2.3" long, the 1951 is a compact finishing piece from the Williams Gunsight Company, a U.S. manufacturer that has been producing aircraft-strength aluminum sight components and accessories for over 90 years.
