The Whitetail Institute Imperial Winter-Greens is a fall annual food plot seed blend developed from WINA brassicas for late-season attraction and holding power. This 3 lb bag covers up to 1/2 acre and is designed to plant quickly, establish fast, and stay green well into the cold months when native browse has played out.
Winter-Greens combines four cool-season forage components - sugar beets, kale, turnip, and radish - into a single broadcast blend. The variety was selected for drought resistance, the ability to withstand extreme cold temperatures, and the unique capacity to stand tall even under snow, giving whitetail deer a reliable late-season food source and giving hunters a productive plot from fall through the late hunting season.
Recommended for fall planting, Winter-Greens thrives in medium to well-drained soil. Broadcast the seed at a rate of about 3 lbs per 1/2 acre and apply a minimum of 1 ton of lime per 1/2 acre prior to planting for best results. Once established, the plot draws deer throughout the fall and into the late season, making it an excellent choice for hunters looking to attract and hold whitetails on their property when other food sources have gone dormant.
