The Wheeler Universal Bench Block is a purpose-built gunsmithing tool made from dense non-marring urethane, giving DIY handgunsmiths a forgiving work surface to drive out pins, drift sights, and dress ejector ports without scarring finished parts. The block is molded in Black urethane and laid out around the most common handgun pin and sight geometry, so it slots naturally into any 1911 or 10/22 project.
A two-sided design pairs the most-needed work surfaces on one face - a barrel link removal channel, front and rear sight channels, an ejector port dressing channel, and dedicated hammer and sear pin removal holes - with additional holes and grooves on the opposite side that line up with Colt 1911A1 components. That same geometry makes the block just as useful on 10/22 rifles and a range of other centerfire handguns that share similar pin layouts.
With a 4 in diameter footprint and a low 1-5/16 in profile, the Universal Bench Block sits flat and steady on any workbench and provides enough mass to absorb the energy of pin punches without skating across the bench. Because it's urethane rather than steel, the block will not mar slide finishes, alloy frames, or delicate small parts, and the slightly grippy material helps hold pins and bushings in place as you work them out. A practical everyday bench companion for anyone servicing an M1911 pistol or tearing down a 10/22 for a build.
