Its 22-inch barrel is cold hammer-forged and threaded at the muzzle for the easy addition of a muzzle device or suppressor, and is mated to a satin stainless steel action that is drilled and tapped for scope base installation.

At the heart of the Vanguard action is a crisp two-stage trigger, an M-16 style extractor for positive cartridge extraction, and a Sub-MOA accuracy guarantee out of the box. The 1:10 rate of twist stabilizes the broad range of 30-06 bullet weights favored by North American big-game hunters, and the internal box magazine holds 5+1 rounds.
