The Weatherby Vanguard Obsidian is a purpose-built bolt-action hunting rifle chambered in 350 Legend, a straight-walled cartridge well suited for hunting in regions where bottlenecked centerfire rounds are restricted. It carries Weatherby's classic Vanguard action in a configuration focused on simplicity, accuracy, and weather-resistant reliability in the field.

At the heart of the rifle is a 20-inch cold hammer forged #2 contour barrel finished in blued and threaded for muzzle accessories. The barrel is paired with a blued drilled and tapped steel receiver that is ready for optic mounting. It feeds from an internal 5+1 box magazine and is cycled by a smooth two-stage match-grade adjustable trigger behind a traditional three-position safety. Sights are not included, allowing the shooter to mount their preferred optic directly to the receiver.

The Vanguard Obsidian wears a black synthetic Monte Carlo stock with a weather-resistant finish that shrugs off the elements on long hunts and rough use. Overall length measures 40 inches and the rifle tips the scales at approximately 7.3 lbs, giving a balanced, steady feel off the shooting sticks or in the prone position. The 1:16 inch twist rate is optimized for the range of 350 Legend bullet weights commonly used for whitetail and other medium game.
