The Weatherby Vanguard Compact Hunter brings Weatherby's out-of-the-box accuracy and proven Vanguard action to a shorter, lighter rifle purpose-built for smaller-statured and younger hunters, as well as anyone who wants a more nimble woods rifle. Chambered in .243 Winchester, one of the most versatile and mild-recoiling centerfire cartridges ever developed, it shoots flat on varmints and coyotes while delivering more than enough energy for deer-sized game.

The bolt-action Compact Hunter uses a 4+1 internal magazine with a hinged floorplate, all built around a stainless steel receiver that shrugs off the weather hunters actually face in the field. Its 22" #1 contour barrel is threaded for a suppressor or muzzle brake, paired with a 1:10" twist that stabilizes the full range of .243 Win bullet weights. Overall length runs 39" to 40" depending on stock adjustment, and the rifle tips the scales at a trim 6.5 lbs for easy all-day carry.

The camouflage synthetic stock features Weatherby's length-of-pull adjustability so the rifle can grow with a young shooter or be fine-tuned to fit a variety of users.
