The Weatherby Mark V Backcountry Guide is a purpose-built lightweight mountain rifle chambered in 300 PRC. Built on Weatherby's legendary Mark V action, this bolt-action rifle features a 22" carbon fiber fluted and threaded barrel paired with a steel receiver finished in Black Cerakote and drilled and tapped for optics mounting.
The Backcountry Guide is outfitted with Peak 44's Blacktooth carbon fiber stock finished in Black with Olive Green and Backpack accents camouflage, with Spartan Precision gunsmithing adapters factory installed for quick sling attachment. The fixed Peak 44 stock and carbon fiber barrel keep total rifle weight to just 6.20 lbs. An overall length of 42" and a 1:10 twist rate make this rifle ready for long-range mountain hunting in tough terrain.
A TriggerTech trigger delivers a clean, crisp pull, and the two-position safety offers safe carry and ready-to-fire positions. The deep spiral-fluted bolt cycles smoothly with a short bolt throw, and the muzzle is fitted with Weatherby's Accubrake ST muzzle brake paired with a 3DHex recoil pad to manage recoil effectively. The 3+1 capacity is well-suited for mountain hunting with magnum-class cartridges. This rifle ships with no iron sights installed, allowing the shooter to mount their preferred optic directly on the drilled and tapped receiver.
Designed for backcountry hunters who demand lightweight performance without sacrificing the Mark V's renowned accuracy and reliability, the Backcountry Guide is a top-tier choice for sheep, elk, and mountain goat hunting. Right-hand configuration.
