The Uncle Mike's 24560 Hammer Extension is a purpose-built shooting accessory designed to slip over the existing hammer on external-hammer firearms, adding extra leverage so the hammer becomes easier to reach and easier to cock. It is especially useful on scoped rifles and shotguns where the optic or stock geometry makes the factory hammer difficult to operate with the bare thumb.

This model (2540-0) is specifically profiled to fit the Ruger Blackhawk revolver, the H&R Topper single-shot shotgun, and the New England Firearms Handi-Rifle single-shot rifle. The extension is ambidextrous, so it can be installed on either the right or left side of the hammer, and it carries a traditional blued finish on a steel body to match blued firearms. A knurled surface provides a secure grip even with gloved or wet hands.

Installation is straightforward - the extension slips over the existing hammer and is secured with the included Allen wrench. The 24560 is not compatible with low-wall or high-wall hammer designs.
