The Traditions ShedHorn is a feature-rich .50 caliber muzzleloading rifle built around a 26" fluted stainless steel barrel and a Veil Wideland synthetic stock. The ShedHorn uses a flintlock action with musket cap ignition, pairing the classic sidelock feel with a reliable cap-and-nipple firing system, and ships as a single-shot muzzleloader ready for the field.

The chromoly steel barrel features a 1:28" twist that stabilizes both round ball and saboted modern muzzleloading projectiles. The fluted profile trims weight, balances the rifle quickly to the shoulder, and helps the barrel shed heat during long days afield. The stainless barrel and receiver finish resists corrosion in wet weather and stands up to the residue of black-powder shooting.

An Accelerator breech plug drops out easily for fast cleaning and delivers more consistent ignition shot after shot. Williams fiber optic metal sights are mounted at the factory for quick target pickup in low light. The Veil Wideland synthetic stock uses a camouflage pattern that breaks up the rifle's outline in the field and is textured to maintain a secure grip in cold, wet, or gloved hands. A rubber butt pad helps soak up felt recoil and keeps the comb seated in the shoulder at the shot.
