Traditions Deerhunter 50 Cal Percussion 24" Octagon Hardwood Sidelock Rifle Kit - Unfinished

The Traditions Deerhunter is a factory-preassembled muzzleloading rifle kit built around the classic 50 caliber percussion system. It ships in raw, unfinished form so the traditional shooter can complete, finish, and customize the rifle to taste, yet the major assemblies are all fitted at the factory for a true hands-on build rather than a full fabrication project.

At the heart of the action is the time-honored sidelock design with a hooked breech, paired with a 24" octagonal barrel turned at the standard 1:48" twist. Lite Optic sights come installed, and the natural stainless barrel is left uncured so the builder can blue, brown, or color-case it after final assembly.

The stock is a select piece of hardwood, shaped and inlet at the factory with a fixed (non-adjustable) design for a clean drop-in fit. Sanding, sealing, staining, and a final finish coat are left to the customer. The completed rifle weighs in at approximately 6 lbs.
