The Taylor's & Company Hawken Hunter is a 50 caliber flintlock muzzleloading rifle that captures the classic Hawken-pattern look carried by 19th-century mountain men and frontier hunters. Built in Italy by Davide Pedersoli and imported through Taylor's & Company, it pairs a 28" blued octagon barrel with a color case hardened steel receiver and a fixed walnut stock, giving this single-shot muzzleloader the proportions, balance, and traditional finish black powder shooters look for.
The Hawken Hunter runs a traditional flintlock ignition system and a 1:24" twist well-suited to round ball and conical hunting projectiles. For sighting, it uses a classic blade front paired with a fast ghost ring rear. The rifle measures 48" overall and weighs 8.60 lbs, a steady-handling package that performs well offhand, prone, and from the bench, and a microcell butt pad takes some of the edge off felt recoil during a long day at the range or in the field.
Built for muzzleloader hunters chasing big game in states with primitive-weapon seasons, traditional black powder enthusiasts who shoot flintlock-only events, and collectors rounding out a Hawken-pattern lineup, the Taylor's & Company Hawken Hunter is a true single-shot rifle with traditional flintlock ignition backed by modern Italian build quality.
