The Taylor's & Company The Hickok Open-Top is a faithful tribute to Wild Bill Hickok's 19th-century open-top conversion revolver, chambered in 45 Colt (Long Colt). Built on a case-hardened forged steel frame with a period-correct 3.50" round blued barrel, this single-action revolver follows the design of the cartridge-converted 1871-1872 Colt Open Top that Hickok famously carried, complete with an exposed hammer, a blade front sight, a notched rear sight, and a blued engraved cylinder that holds 6 rounds. There is no ejector rod, matching the original conversion configuration.
The grip frame carries an Army-size walnut grip with blued steel grip parts, giving the revolver its full-size single-action feel and balance, with an overall length of 9.30" at a carry-friendly 2.20 lbs. The Color Case Hardened treatment on the frame pairs with the Blued barrel and cylinder for the classic two-tone Old West appearance that defines the category.
Manufactured by Uberti in Italy and imported under the Taylor's & Company name, this model is a strong fit for Cowboy Action Shooting competitors, Old West reenactors, and collectors who want an honest, working reproduction of one of the most historically significant single-actions ever carried. Everything that defines a period-correct open-top conversion is here: the missing ejector rod, the exposed hammer, the front blade sight, and the case-colored frame dressed in deep blued steel.
