The Taylor's & Company 1886 Takedown Classic revives one of the most storied lever-action designs ever produced, chambered in the hard-hitting .45-70 Government cartridge. Faithful to the original 1886 layout, this full-size rifle uses a lever action that feeds an internal tube magazine holding 8+1 rounds, ideal for cowboy action shooting and big-game hunting alike.

At its heart, the rifle is built on a steel receiver finished in traditional color case hardened, paired with a 26" blued octagon barrel featuring a period-correct 1:18" twist. Classic open sights come standard - a dovetail blade front and a dovetail buckhorn rear - making the rifle ready for iron-sight competition straight from the box. The quick takedown design splits the action and forend into two pieces for easier transport in the field or packing into remote camps.
