The Taylor's & Company 1874 Billy's Sharps is a faithful reproduction of the iconic American single-shot buffalo rifle, manufactured by Pedersoli in Italy and imported by Taylor's & Company. Chambered in 45-70 Government, this model brings the legendary Sharps action back to life for hunters, collectors, and Cowboy Action Shooters who want the look and feel of a true mid-19th century long-range rifle.
At the heart of the rifle is a polished break-open action mounted on a blued steel receiver that is drilled and tapped for scope or tang sight mounting. The 32" octagonal barrel is finished in classic bluing and pairs with traditional Dovetail Blade front and Dovetail Ladder rear sights, providing the same sight picture as the original Sharps buffalo-hunting rifles of the 1870s.
The rifle wears a checkered walnut fixed stock with a warm oil finish in the Brown stock group, complemented by a matching walnut forend capped with a German silver tip. A double-set trigger allows a light, crisp release for precision shooting at long range, while a 1:18" twist stabilizes traditional 45-70 Government bullet weights. Single-shot capacity delivers the slow-fire experience Sharps shooters have favored for nearly 150 years.
With an overall length of 46.88" and a weight of 10.79 lbs, this 1874 Billy's Sharps handles like the original long-range rifle it replicates, making it a natural choice for black-powder silhouette competition, hunting, or historical display.
