The Taylor's & Company 550643 Top Break Schofield revives the famous 1875 cavalry revolver designed by Major George Schofield for one-handed reloads from horseback. Chambered in 45 Colt (LC), this single-action top-break wears Taylor's deep bluing with detailed scrollwork across the forged steel frame, barrel, and cylinder, a hallmark of the engraved variant in the Top Break line.
The break-open action pivots at the top latch for fast ejection and reload, just like the original Smith & Wesson Schofield No. 3. A 7" barrel mates to a fluted 6-round cylinder, all finished in blued engraved steel. Sights are traditionally configured with a blade front and fixed rear, while the exposed hammer and two-piece walnut grip round out the period-true silhouette.
At 12.75" overall and 2.97 lbs, the Schofield handles with the same balanced feel that made its 19th-century original a favorite of mounted soldiers. Whether you are looking for a quality Cowboy Action Shooter, a historical reenactment sidearm, or a beautifully engraved Western-style addition to your collection, this 1875-pattern reproduction delivers Taylor's & Company's blend of historical accuracy and modern quality manufacturing.
