The Taurus Judge Home Defender takes the company's legendary multi-caliber revolver platform and tailors it for home defense duty. Built around a long 13" barrel and a 5-shot cylinder chambered for 45 Long Colt and 410 Gauge shotshells, the Home Defender pairs traditional revolver handling with the spread and impact of a 410 bore shotshell - including 2.5" and 3" shells - for close-range defensive use.

At the core of the Judge Home Defender is a double-action/single-action mechanism with an exposed hammer, set into an alloy steel large frame sized to absorb the recoil of mixed .45 Colt and .410 ammunition. The barrel and cylinder wear a uniform matte black oxide finish that resists corrosion and glare, and the top of the barrel is fitted with a Picatinny optics rail so the revolver can be set up with a red dot or reflex sight instead of traditional iron sights - the Home Defender ships without factory iron sights, ready for an optic of the shooter's choice.

Measuring 19.50" overall and finished with a classic walnut grip, the Judge Home Defender balances the long sight radius and muzzle control of a full-length barrel with the practical pointability of a revolver. The wood grip provides a comfortable, secure hold while complementing the matte black metalwork.
