The Taurus 692 is a versatile medium-frame multi-caliber revolver built to run three different cartridges from a single platform. It ships with two interchangeable cylinders: one cut for 38 Special +P and 357 Magnum, and a second for 9mm Luger (loaded via moon clips). Swapping calibers takes only moments, giving shooters magnum power for the field, manageable +P rounds for personal defense, and inexpensive 9mm for range time, all from one gun.

Built around a 3" ported barrel finished in matte black along with the cylinder and frame, the 692 cycles through seven rounds on a smooth double-action/single-action trigger. The exposed hammer lets traditionalists thumb-cock the gun for precise single-action shots, while the transfer-bar safety mechanically blocks the firing pin until the trigger is fully pressed, adding a critical layer of drop-safe protection.

An alloy steel frame holds overall weight to roughly 35 ounces, balancing recoil control against all-day carry. Sighting is handled by a fixed front blade paired with an adjustable rear sight, allowing point of aim to be dialed in for different loads and distances. Black Ribber grips fill the hand and maintain a positive hold with or without gloves.
