The Talley PSM258700 one-piece Picatinny rail is purpose-built for the Remington 700 short-action receiver, giving hunters and precision shooters a rigid, MIL-STD-1913 mounting platform for rings and optics. Machined from 7129 Aluminum and finished in a low-glare Black Matte anodize, it replaces traditional two-piece bases with a single, snag-free unit that locks directly to the factory receiver holes using the included 8-40 mounting screws.
A built-in 20 MOA cant angles the rail forward from the receiver, keeping scope elevation adjustments closer to mechanical center at extended ranges and giving long-range shooters more usable elevation travel. The rail accepts any ring set or one-piece mount built to Picatinny / MIL-STD-1913 specifications, so you can pair it with whatever optic-mounting system matches your scope and shooting style.
At 6.18" overall, this Talley base provides plenty of clamping surface for a wide range of scope body tube diameters while keeping the action profile compact. The integrated recoil-lug interface mates to the Remington 700 action geometry, and the 0.361" front / 0.508" rear mount height offers a moderate, scope-friendly bell-clearance profile on most factory and aftermarket stocks. Rings are not included; the rail is the foundation for whatever optic system you build around it.
Designed by Talley for the Remington 700 short-action rifle, the PSM258700 is a precision alternative to ring-and-base setups on rifles used for hunting, long-range dialing, or general-purpose scope mounting.
