Part of the value-priced Stevens 555 series (a Savage Arms brand), the Compact variant pairs a lightweight aluminum receiver with a stock sized for a shorter length of pull without sacrificing the classic break-open styling the line is known for.

Up top, the 24" chrome-lined barrel stack wears a vent rib for a clean sight picture and ships ready to go with a simple bead sight. A 3" chamber lets the gun cycle light target loads all the way up to heavier hunting shells, while the lightweight satin black aluminum receiver is scaled to the gauge and reinforced with a steel breech insert to keep carry weight down to just 5 lbs.

The break-open action feeds two chambers for a 2-round capacity and is paired with a crisp single-stage trigger and a tang safety for instinctive operation. For pattern tuning, Stevens includes five interchangeable choke tubes - C, F, IC, IM, and M - in the Beretta/Benelli Mobil thread pattern, giving the gun real versatility across upland hunting, clays, and small-game work.
