The Steiner T1042 is a purpose-built tactical binocular from Steiner's T-Series, delivering 10x42mm performance through a roof prism platform wrapped in a Makrolon housing and protected by military-grade rubber armor.

Steiner's CAT (Color Adjusted Transmission) optic coating is engineered to optimize contrast and light transmission across the visible spectrum, while fogproof and waterproof sealing keeps the internal optics clear in harsh weather. The Fast-Close Focus system enables rapid adjustments from close to distant subjects without cycling through the entire focus range, with a usable short focus of 60 ft.

Optical performance is anchored by a generous 317 ft field of view at 1,000 yds, 16mm of eye relief, a 4.20mm exit pupil, and a 20.5 twilight factor for solid low-light performance. Steiner's ClicLoc quick-release strap system allows the operator to mount or remove the binocular from its harness with one hand.
