The Springfield Armory 1911 Mil-Spec Defender Legacy is a full-size semi-automatic pistol chambered in 45 ACP. Its traditional 1911 configuration combines a 5" barrel with a 7+1 capacity for range use and customers seeking a classic service-pistol format. The established barrel-length range is 5.00" to 5.99".

The pistol uses a satin stainless steel match grade barrel with a serrated carbon steel slide. Both the slide and carbon steel frame wear a black Parkerized finish, pairing the Mil-Spec profile with a subdued exterior.
