The Springfield Armory 1911 Mil-Spec carries on Springfield's long tradition of building traditionally-styled, G.I.-inspired 1911 pistols. This California-compliant variant (part number PB9108LCA) is built on a forged carbon steel frame and slide finished in Black Parkerized, giving it the classic non-reflective matte look favored by military and duty users for over a century.

Chambered in .45 ACP, the Mil-Spec pairs a full-length 5" stainless steel match grade barrel with rear slide serrations for easy press checks. The pistol uses a Single Action Only (SAO) semi-automatic action, a military-style trigger, and an arched mainspring housing. Traditional controls include a grip safety and thumb safety, and the Crossed Cannon Cocobolo grips carry Springfield's classic crossed-cannon insignia.

Aiming is handled by 3-Dot Fixed Combat sights, and the pistol ships with two 7-round magazines for a service capacity of 7+1.
