The Springfield Armory 1911 DS Prodigy Comp AOS takes the proven 1911 platform and reconfigures it for high-capacity 9mm Luger use. Built around a 5-inch forged stainless steel match-grade bull barrel with a 1:16 twist, this single-action semi-auto feeds from a double-stack magazine well and ships ready for red-dot optics and serious range work.

The slide is forged from carbon steel and finished in Coyote Brown Cerakote. It carries an integrated compensator that vents gases upward to tame muzzle rise, plus a direct-mount optic cut for the AOS plate system so you can mount today's most popular micro red dots without adapter plates. Aggressive slide serrations give positive purchase for press checks and manipulations.

Underneath, a forged steel frame mates to a polymer grip module finished with aggressive texturing for a secure hold in any condition. The pistol ships with two magazines - one 17-round and one 20-round - and includes a soft case. Overall length runs 8.5 inches, with a two-piece full-length guide rod handling recoil-spring cycling for that classic 1911-style shooting feel.
