The Springfield Armory 1911 DS Prodigy AOS brings the classic 1911 double-stack platform into modern defensive and duty roles, pairing a forged bull barrel with an optic-ready slide. Chambered in 9mm Luger, the Prodigy AOS uses a 4.25" forged stainless steel bull barrel and a high-capacity 15+1 double-stack magazine well that maintains the familiar 1911 grip geometry while delivering a substantial round count.

Built around an aluminum alloy double-stack frame finished in Black Cerakote, the Prodigy keeps weight down while preserving the rigidity needed for repeatable accuracy. The slide is cut for Springfield's AOS (Agency Optic System) plate, accepting a wide range of popular red-dot footprints straight out of the box, and features slide serrations for easy press checks and manipulations. Black polymer grips keep the package comfortable and controllable at the range or on carry.

An ambidextrous thumb safety makes the Prodigy equally at home for left- and right-handed shooters, while the crisp trigger preserves the classic 1911 feel. Overall length runs approximately 10.1", and the pistol ships with two 15-round magazines in a double-zipper carrying case.
