The Speer Gold Dot Personal Protection reloading bullet is built for 45 ACP defensive handloads. Each .451 inch projectile weighs 230 grains and uses Speer's signature Gold Dot bonded hollow point construction, where a copper jacket is electrochemically fused to a lead core for nearly 100% weight retention through heavy clothing, denim, and auto glass.

Designed specifically for personal protection and concealed-carry applications, this hollow point delivers controlled expansion and consistent penetration across a wide range of conditions. The bullet carries a .143 ballistic coefficient and .162 sectional density in the classic duty weight trusted by law enforcement professionals. No cannelure is present, allowing handloaders to set their preferred crimp and overall length on the .670 inch projectile.
