The Speer 1023 Varmint Soft Point is a .22 Caliber (.224") rifle reloading bullet purpose-built for fast, accurate, and humane kills on small game and varmints. Each bullet weighs 45 grains and features a classic jacketed soft point (JSP) design that delivers controlled expansion and reliable terminal performance at varmint-hunting velocities.
Built around a traditional lead core wrapped in a precision copper jacket, the exposed soft lead nose mushrooms on impact while the copper jacket retains mass and drives penetration. The streamlined spitzer profile delivers a G1 ballistic coefficient of .167 and a sectional density of .128, supporting flat trajectories and consistent downrange performance for handloaders.
With a bullet length of .560" and a diameter of .224", the 1023 is intended for the .22 Caliber family of rifle cartridges. The bullet has no cannelure, allowing handloaders to seat to whatever overall cartridge length and jump they prefer for accuracy. Each box contains 100 bullets, packed 5 boxes per case (500 bullets total per case).
These are reloading components (projectiles only) intended for handloading - not loaded ammunition ready to fire out of the box. As new production components, they offer consistent dimensions and uniform concentricity for reliable case seating and accuracy in your custom varmint loads.
