The Smith & Wesson SD9 VE is a striker-fired, polymer-frame 9mm Luger semi-automatic pistol purpose-built for personal protection and range use. Part of S&W's SD Series introduced in 2010, the SD9 VE (Value Enhanced) pairs a feature-rich package with a budget-friendly price that has kept it a top choice for first-time concealed-carry buyers and home-defense shoppers.

At the heart of the SD9 VE is a 4-inch stainless steel barrel mated to a satin stainless steel slide with aggressive front and rear serrations for easy press checks and manipulations. The matte black polymer frame is built around an integrated Picatinny accessory rail for mounting a weapon light or laser, and the contoured textured polymer grip provides confident control under recoil. Sights are HiViz fiber-optic, with a green front and a red rear for fast, intuitive target acquisition in daylight and low light alike.
