The Smith & Wesson Model 69 Combat Magnum is the first L-Frame revolver chambered for the powerful .44 Remington Magnum cartridge, also fully compatible with the milder .44 S&W Special for reduced-recoil practice. Built on a rugged stainless steel L-Frame with a non-reflective matte stainless finish throughout, this California-compliant configuration is engineered from the ground up for continuous Magnum use.

The 4.25" two-piece barrel is paired with a full top strap and barrel serration that cuts glare and gives the shooter a positive gripping surface during recoil. A ball-detent lock-up keeps the 5-round matte stainless cylinder timed tightly to the frame, while an exposed hammer lets the shooter run the crisp double-action / single-action trigger the L-Frame is known for.

Sighting is handled by a bright red ramp front sight mated to a white outline rear, giving a fast, intuitive sight picture under heavy magnum recoil. Black finger-grooved grips fill the hand and tame muzzle rise during rapid strings. An internal lock is incorporated into the frame for safe storage.
