The Smith & Wesson Model 586 Classic revives one of the most respected double-action revolvers of the early 1980s as a current-production L-Frame six-shooter. Chambered for the legendary .357 Magnum cartridge and rated for .38 Special +P, it pairs a 4" blued barrel with a matching blued 6-shot cylinder housed in a blued carbon steel frame sized to balance carry comfort with magnum-duty durability.

The Model 586 Classic runs a traditional double-action / single-action action paired with an exposed hammer for deliberate single-shot cocking, and uses a period-correct sighting system with a red ramp front sight and white outline rear sight for fast, intuitive target acquisition. A wood grip with the classic S&W profile carries the traditional look and feel of the original 586.

Built on the L-Frame platform shared with the stainless 686, the Model 586 Classic measures 9.30" overall and tips the scales at 41.30 oz, giving it the heft to comfortably manage full-power .357 Magnum loads. A built-in internal lock safety is integrated into the frame.
