The Smith & Wesson Model 460 XVR (X-treme Velocity Revolver) is a big-bore hunting and sport revolver chambered in 460 S&W Mag. Built on S&W's extra-large stainless steel frame, this revolver is engineered to handle the punishing pressures of one of the most powerful production revolver cartridges ever offered, delivering velocities over 2,300 feet per second. The 8.38-inch satin stainless barrel features S&W's gain-twist rifling and is paired with a matching satin-finished unfluted cylinder. The package ships with two interchangeable muzzle compensators, letting the shooter tune recoil management to the chosen load.

Operation is traditional S&W double-action/single-action with an exposed hammer for precise single-action work. The 5-shot cylinder feeds the magnum cartridge, while the black finger-grooved grip fills the hand for a controlled hold under heavy recoil. Sighting is handled by an interchangeable front blade paired with an adjustable rear sight, giving the shooter a versatile sighting system for both field and target use. S&W finishes the platform with a satin stainless steel frame; overall length is 15 inches and total weight is 72 ounces.
