The Smith & Wesson M&P 9 Shield X is a subcompact, striker-fired, single-stack 9mm Luger carry pistol that updates the proven Shield platform with a longer 3.6" stainless steel barrel, an optics-ready slide, and improved ergonomics. This variant (part number 14264) ships from the factory with a manual thumb safety and includes both a flush-fit 13-round magazine and an extended 15-round magazine for a total capacity of up to 15+1.

The slide is machined from stainless steel and finished in Armornite with a blacked-out, serrated rear notch and an integrated RMSc/K-pattern optic cut for direct mounting of micro red dots. The 3.6" barrel uses a 1:10 twist for reliable feeding with a wide range of 9mm loads, from full-power defensive rounds to bulk practice ammunition. Sights are configured with a white-dot front paired with a serrated blacked-out rear for a clean, snag-free carry profile.

The polymer frame measures just 0.9" wide and 4.9" tall, with an overall length of 6.87" and an unloaded weight of 20.8 oz, making the Shield X one of the slimmest, lightest optics-ready concealed-carry pistols in the M&P line. Aggressive textured grip panels provide confident control without snagging on clothing, and the included thumb safety offers an additional mechanical rest for those who prefer it.
