The Sierra MatchKing line is the benchmark for match-grade reloading projectiles, and the 9290T is purpose-built for the .223 Remington / 5.56x45mm NATO family. This 22 caliber bullet measures .224" in diameter, weighs 90 grains, and is built around a lead core enclosed in a precision-drawn copper jacket.

The Hollow Point Boat Tail (HPBT) profile is Sierra's signature match design. The hollow tip delivers a precisely balanced ogive for an exceptionally high ballistic coefficient and consistent seating depth, while the tapered boat-tail base reduces drag and minimizes sensitivity to velocity changes downrange. There is no cannelure, allowing reloaders to seat the bullet to any preferred depth for optimal accuracy in their specific rifle.
