The Sierra 1930 MatchKing is a legendary 7mm (.284") 168 grain Hollow Point Boat Tail bullet designed for serious long-range target and competition shooting. One of Sierra's most celebrated MatchKing designs, the 168 grain 7mm HPBT has earned a long-standing reputation for extreme accuracy and holds a 1000-yard Camp Perry record set in a 7mm Remington Magnum.
Built around a lead core wrapped in a thin drawn copper jacket, the MatchKing is held to Sierra's tightest production tolerances. Jacket concentricity is controlled to a maximum variation of 0.0003" and individual bullet weight is held to within +/-0.3 grain, giving handloaders a uniform payload that translates into consistent velocity, predictable trajectory, and tight groups at distance.
Sized to a true .284" diameter with a .298 sectional density and a G1 ballistic coefficient of 0.488, the boat-tail profile maximizes retained velocity and helps the bullet resist wind drift at 600 to 1000 yards. The hollow point boat tail shape is equally at home in long-range prone and competition shooting, and in rifle silhouette competition — especially for ram targets — where the 7mm 168 grain MatchKing enjoys a large following.
Sold as a 100-count box of reloading projectiles with no cannelure, the 1930 is intended for handloaders assembling 7mm match-grade cartridges such as the 7mm Remington Magnum and other .284" rifle rounds. Always verify your load data against a current, published reloading manual before use.
