At the heart of the rifle is a 21" matte black button-rifled barrel with a target crown, threaded into a matte blued carbon steel receiver that is drilled and tapped for scope mounting. The button-rifled bore spins standard .22 LR ammunition at a 1:16" twist, producing the kind of accuracy that has made the Mark II a long-standing favorite for rimfire hunting and target work.

Savage's user-adjustable AccuTrigger lets the shooter dial in a clean, crisp break to match individual preference, while the two-position thumb safety sits naturally behind the bolt handle for intuitive operation. The rifle feeds from a 5-round detachable box magazine, and a single 5-round magazine ships with the gun.
