Savage Impulse Mountain Hunter 6.5 PRC 24" 2+1 Bolt Action Rifle

The Savage Arms Impulse Mountain Hunter is purpose-built for the backcountry hunter who needs a lightweight, fast-handling rifle for high-country pursuits. Chambered in the precision 6.5 PRC cartridge, this straight-pull bolt-action pairs Savage's proven accuracy platform with a premium Proof Research carbon fiber-wrapped stainless steel barrel to keep carried weight down without sacrificing long-range performance.

At the heart of the Impulse is Savage's straight-pull bolt action, which cycles with a simple rearward pull, no lifting or twisting required, making it fast to operate from any shooting position. The rifle wears a 24" carbon fiber-wrapped stainless barrel finished in matte black and threaded 5/8x24 with an installed OmniPort muzzle brake for reduced recoil and faster follow-up shots. The barrel uses a 1:8" twist rate well-suited to the long, heavy-for-caliber bullets the 6.5 PRC is designed around.

The black aluminum receiver is machined with an integral Picatinny optics rail, giving you a rock-solid mounting platform for any scope you choose. The rifle ships without iron sights. Savage's user-adjustable AccuTrigger lets you set pull weight to your preference without a trip to the gunsmith, and a tang safety provides thumb-friendly control from either side. The ambidextrous gray synthetic AccuStock features Savage's AccuFit system, allowing the comb height and length of pull to be adjusted for a personalized fit.

With a 2+1 capacity, an overall length of 46.75", and a carried weight of just 7.39 lbs, the Mountain Hunter is built to cover ground on long stalks and deliver precision at distance. It is American-made and ships ready to mount your optic and head into the high country.
