Savage Impulse Mountain Hunter 300 WSM 24" 2+1 Bolt Action Rifle - Ambidextrous

The Savage Impulse Mountain Hunter is a straight-pull bolt-action rifle designed for high-country hunting and European-style driven hunts, where fast follow-up shots and a light, packable build matter most. The Impulse action cycles the bolt straight back with no lift, keeping the shooter's sight picture intact between shots and giving the rifle a true bolt-action feel with rapid-fire speed.

Chambered in 300 WSM, this Mountain Hunter pairs the straight-pull action with a 24" PROOF Research carbon fiber threaded barrel topped by an OmniPort muzzle brake for reduced recoil and muzzle rise. The barrel is free-floated and threaded for suppressor or alternate muzzle device use.

The receiver is machined from black aluminum and incorporates an integral one-piece 20 MOA Picatinny rail for direct optic mounting. Savage's user-adjustable AccuTrigger lets the shooter dial in pull weight, and a tang safety provides positive, glove-friendly control.

Bedding comes courtesy of the gray AccuStock, a synthetic chassis with an internal three-dimensional aluminum bedding block that locks the action in place for repeatable accuracy. The stock features a black rubber cheek piece and grip panels for control in wet or cold conditions. The Mountain Hunter ships with no iron sights, letting you mount the optic of your choice directly to the factory rail.

Built ambidextrous, this rifle measures 46.75" overall and weighs just 7.39 lbs, making it one of the lightest offerings in the Impulse lineup. It feeds from a 2-round detachable box magazine for a 2+1 total capacity and uses a 1:10" twist to stabilize the wide range of bullet weights 300 WSM shooters rely on for elk, moose, and big western game.
