The Savage Axis 2 Compact in 400 Legend is a left-hand bolt action hunting rifle built around a 20" heavy sporter barrel and a 4+1 capacity. Part of the redesigned Axis 2 generation, the Compact brings updated stock geometry and improved ergonomics to a shorter, faster-handling package at an accessible price point.

The receiver is machined from carbon steel with a matte black finish and arrives drilled and tapped for scope base installation. It is paired with a 20" matte black heavy sporter contour barrel cut with a 1:16" twist. No iron sights are installed, leaving a clean mounting surface for the shooter's preferred optic. Savage's signature user-adjustable AccuTrigger is standard, allowing the pull weight to be set to the shooter's preference without special tools and delivering a clean break shot after shot.

A fixed matte gray synthetic stock houses the action, fitted with the refined Axis 2 ergonomics for improved comfort and control in the field. This left-hand configuration places the bolt handle, ejection port, and safety on the correct side for a left-handed shooter. The rifle measures 39.50" overall and weighs approximately 6.30 lbs, light enough to carry all day yet substantial enough to manage recoil and steady off-hand shots.
