The Savage Axis 2 is a value-priced bolt-action hunting rifle built around a proven Savage action and chambered in the classic American 25-06 Rem cartridge. Designed as an out-of-the-box platform for whitetail, mule deer, pronghorn, and similar North American big game, the Axis 2 pairs a 22-inch sporter barrel with a 1:10 twist and Savage's user-adjustable AccuTrigger.

The barrel wears a non-reflective matte black finish and is mated to a matte black drilled-and-tapped steel receiver, making optic mounting straightforward. The rifle ships with no iron sights installed, so it leaves the factory ready for the scope or red dot of your choice. The action cycles a 4-round detachable box magazine, giving the Axis 2 a total 4+1 capacity.

Up top, the rifle wears a fixed, full-length matte gray synthetic stock built to shrug off weather and rough use in the field.
