The Savage Arms Axis XP Combo Compact is a value-packed bolt-action hunting rifle chambered in 223 Remington, built around a 20" button-rifled barrel mated to a carbon steel receiver in a compact configuration.

Savage updated the Axis XP platform with a redesigned ergonomic Fixed Sporter stock featuring enhanced texturing and an ambidextrous palm swell on the pistol grip, finished in a durable black synthetic. The redesigned bolt handle delivers improved control and comfort during cycling, and the receiver accepts the included optics package.

This Combo package ships with a factory-mounted and bore-sighted 3-9x40 scope secured on a two-piece Weaver-style base, so buyers can take the rifle straight to the field without purchasing separate rings or bases. No iron sights are installed. The rifle feeds from a detachable magazine with a 4+1 capacity, runs a 1:9" twist well suited to a range of 223 Rem bullet weights, and tips the scales at 7.40 lbs with an overall length of 39.50".
