Savage 1911 Government 45 ACP 5" 8+1 Semi-Auto Pistol

The Savage 1911 Government brings modern manufacturing to one of America's most iconic pistol platforms, chambered in .45 ACP. Built around a 5" stainless steel barrel machined from billet with an 11 degree target crown, this single-action semi-auto rides on a forged stainless steel frame and slide finished in a tough Black Nitride coating for excellent wear and corrosion resistance.

Savage feeds rounds from a single-stack 8-round magazine for an 8+1 on-board capacity, and the slide is tamed by a dual recoil spring system with a GI-style guide rod that keeps the action running smoothly over long range sessions. The frame carries an ambidextrous grip and thumb safety so the pistol can be run left- or right-handed without compromise. A Picatinny accessory rail machined into the dust cover is ready for a weapon light or laser.

Iron sights include a white dot front matched to a Novak Lo-Mount black rear for fast target acquisition, and the slide wears classic cocking serrations. Handling comes from black and dark gray VZ G10 grip panels that lock in the hand without being abrasive. Two 8-round magazines ship with the pistol so it is range-ready right out of the box.

At an overall length of 8.45" and approximately 2.5 lbs, the Savage 1911 Government is a full-size .45 ACP platform equally at home on the range, in a duty holster, or as a feature-packed defensive pistol.
