The Savage 1911 Government is a classic .45 ACP single-action semi-auto pistol built around a forged stainless steel frame and slide finished in Black Nitride (Melonite). Purpose-built for home defense, duty carry, and range use, this Government-pattern 1911 pairs timeless ergonomics with Savage's modern quality control.

Its 5" stainless steel barrel is machined from billet and crowned with an 11-degree target crown for consistent accuracy. The pistol holds an 8+1 round capacity through a traditional single-stack magazine, and the dual recoil spring system with a GI-style guide rod helps manage felt recoil and extends spring life.

Controls include an ambidextrous thumb safety and grip safety that make the gun fully shootable for right- and left-handed users. The slide features traditional serrations for sure manipulations and is topped with a white dot front sight paired with a Novak Lo-Mount black rear sight for a clean, snag-free sight picture.
