The Ruger Redhawk is a heavy-duty, large-frame double-action/single-action revolver built in the USA for hunting, woods defense, and serious magnum shooting. Introduced in 1979 by Sturm, Ruger & Co., the Redhawk has earned a reputation as one of the strongest production revolvers ever offered, anchored by a triple-locking cylinder and a rugged stainless steel frame.
This 5041 configuration is dual chambered for .44 Remington Magnum and .44 Special, so the same cylinder handles full-power magnum hunting loads and milder .44 Special practice or target ammunition. It wears a 7.5" cold hammer-forged steel barrel in a satin stainless finish, paired with a satin stainless cylinder. The 1:20" rifling twist stabilizes the full range of .44 caliber bullet weights.
The Redhawk carries 6 rounds behind a ramped front sight and an adjustable rear sight for precise holdover, with an exposed hammer for traditional single-action shooting. A transfer-bar safety prevents firing unless the trigger is fully pressed, and hardwood grips deliver a classic look and natural feel in the hand.
At 54 oz and 13" overall, the 7.5" Redhawk balances naturally at the muzzle and effectively tames the recoil of full-house .44 Magnum loads, making it a favorite of big-game hunters, brush-country shooters, and anyone who values the reliability and stopping power of a top-tier American-made six-gun.
