The Ruger Max-9 (item 3518) is a striker-fired, sub-compact 9mm Luger carry pistol configured California compliant, factory-shipped with a 10-round detachable magazine so it meets CA magazine-capacity restrictions while keeping a 10+1 on-board count.

Built around a 3.20" black-oxide stainless steel barrel mated to a through-hardened black-oxide alloy steel slide wearing light serrations for press checks and slide manipulation, the Max-9 frame is molded from black polymer with a slim 0.95" slide width that helps the pistol disappear under typical cover garments. The striker-fired action is paired with a clean trigger pull, short positive reset, an integrated manual safety, and a loaded-chamber indicator for tactile and visual status confirmation.

A tritium fiber-optic front sight combines a glowing tritium vial with a bright daylight ring for fast, intuitive sight acquisition in any light, while a drift-adjustable rear lets the shooter dial in windage. The grip frame is dressed with textured black nylon grips for confident hold.
