The Ruger 90679 is a factory 5-round detachable magazine purpose-built for the Ruger AR-556 chambered in 450 Bushmaster. Engineered to properly support straight-walled big-bore cartridges, the body is constructed from .020-gauge 410 stainless steel alloy and heat-treated for strength and durability.

The body is chemically treated for corrosion resistance and coated with Ruger's proprietary Marlube finish that will not wear off. Internally, the magazine uses chrome silicon springs and an enhanced anti-tilt black polymer follower.
