The Rock River Arms Lightweight Mountain Rifle (LAR-15M, model MT1800) is a 5.56x45mm NATO semi-auto carbine built around a 16-inch chrome moly lightweight barrel. At just 6.2 pounds, this Mountain Rifle is purpose-built for portability on the proven LAR-15M platform.

The 16-inch chrome moly barrel is chambered for both 5.56 NATO and .223 Remington, cycling through the standard direct-gas-impingement AR-15 action and finishing at an A2 flash hider. Up front, the Mountain Rifle pairs a low-profile, lightweight gas block with a CAR-length handguard to keep the front end svelte and well-balanced for the field.

Controls follow RRA's classic pattern: a smooth two-stage trigger inside an oversized winter trigger guard, a Hogue pistol grip, and the RRA 6-position tactical CAR stock for quick length-of-pull adjustment.
