The Rix Optics Storm S3R is a compact thermal riflescope built for hunters and tactical shooters who need fast target detection in low-light and total-darkness conditions. At its heart is a 384x288 thermal sensor with a 12 micron pixel pitch running at a smooth 50 Hz refresh rate, mated to a 35mm objective lens and a base magnification of 3.5x.

The integrated LRF (laser rangefinder) puts accurate distance-to-target on screen for precise holdovers, and the dual-purpose chassis lets the Storm S3R run as a traditional riflescope or pop off for handheld observation. A return-to-center function quickly re-acquires your zero after ranging, and 1-4x digital zoom extends the effective magnification range for positive identification at distance. A crisp 1024x768 display keeps the thermal image sharp, and a -5 to +5 diopter adjustment lets you dial the eyepiece to your eye.

Power comes from a single rechargeable 18650 Li-ion battery with up to 4 hours of runtime in the field. The scope delivers a field of view measuring 7.50 to 13.20 at 100 yards across the magnification settings, and at just 5.30" x 2.50" x 2.20" and 0.97 lbs, the Storm S3R balances cleanly on most hunting and tactical platforms without adding meaningful bulk.
