Real Avid Bolt Catch Punch Set Silver AR-Platform 2-Piece

The Real Avid Bolt Catch Punch Set is a purpose-built 2-piece gunsmithing tool designed to solve one of the more frustrating jobs on the AR-15 platform: removing and installing the bolt catch retaining pin. The two-punch design gives you a dedicated tool for each direction of the job, so you are not improvising with a general-purpose punch against a difficult-to-access roll pin sitting in close proximity to the lower receiver.

The set is engineered specifically for the 223 Rem/5.56x45mm NATO AR-platform lower. Each punch is sized and shaped to fit flush against the receiver without marring or damaging the finish, and is long enough to reach down to the pin. The first punch is a 3/32" roll pin punch used to drive the retaining pin out during removal. The second is a 3/32" magnetized starter punch that holds the roll pin in place at the start so you can start it squarely into the bolt catch before driving it home, eliminating the usual fumble of trying to keep a tiny roll pin aligned.
