Proof Research PXT Bolt Action Barrel Blank .224 Cal 26" 1:7 Twist Competition Contour

The Proof Research PXT is a premium match-grade bolt-action barrel blank built for precision rifle builders and custom chambering work. Designed around the .224 caliber bullet diameter, this blank delivers the long-barrel accuracy and rigidity that competitive shooters demand from a custom build.

Cut to a 26" length with a 1:7 twist rate, the PXT blank is well suited for heavier .224-diameter projectiles and the longer barrel profiles commonly used in competition shooting. The blank is profiled in Proof Research's Competition contour with a 1.25" shank diameter and a 2.5" barrel breech sized to align with common bolt-action receiver dimensions.

PXT barrels start with a 416R stainless steel match-grade core that is then wrapped in high-modulus carbon fiber along its length. The result is a barrel that is significantly lighter than a comparable all-steel barrel, with improved heat dissipation and excellent rigidity under firing pressure.

As a barrel blank, this product is supplied un-chambered and un-threaded and is intended for a qualified gunsmith or barrel installer to chamber for the specific cartridge, action-fit the blank, and cut the muzzle threads to the builder's specifications.
