The Proof Research BA Carbon Fiber Barrel Blank in 284 Cal is a precision bolt-action rifle barrel blank built for custom long-range and hunting-rifle projects in the 284 Winchester caliber family. Its double stress-relieved 416R stainless steel core is wrapped in carbon fiber — Proof Research's signature construction that achieves up to 64% weight savings over a traditional all-steel barrel of comparable contour while improving cooling and rigidity.

Cut to an 18" length with a 1:8 twist rate to stabilize modern high-BC 7mm / .284 projectiles, this blank uses the full Sendero contour for substantial mass at the muzzle. The 2.50" breech length and 1.20" shank diameter are sized to drop into a range of bolt-action receiver faces, leaving the gunsmith or builder to finish the chamber, crown, and threads to the final rifle specification. Finished weight on this Sendero blank comes in at approximately 2 lbs 8 oz.
